Since the environmental community is distinct from the community organization, it is possible to opt-out of the community organization and use .eco domains by qualifying to use .eco in another way. These options are described during the .eco activation process. 

As with the community organization, the primary thing we look for is an active commitment to sustainability, as evidenced by a third party and by the actions of the registrant. All other policies for .eco apply to all .eco registrants, including those around content and use.
